Mission Statement

The school community of St. Joseph gathers together in Christ to explore the richness of our faith, in our study of the created world and our part in it.  We educate our students to become responsible, spiritual young adults who are respectful of themselves and others and who use their gifts and talents to make positive contributions to our church and world.

More than 7,000 fourth grade students from across New Jersey participated in the Partnership for a Drug-Free New Jersey’s Fourth Grade Folder Contest, but just 30 earned their way to the award ceremony held May 3 at the Middlesex County Fire Academy. All 30 fourth grade student finalists received medals for their creative peer-to-peer substance abuse prevention artwork with the theme, “Fun Things to Do Instead Of Doing Drugs.”

Two students from St. Joseph School in Carteret reached the final stage. Jasiel Amigon earned recognition for the message, “Layer Your Life with All that Is Good,” and Gwendolyn Negron was chosen for “Drugs Are Not the Right Fit for Me.” Jasiel also was named one of two grand prize winners of the contest and will have her artwork and message displayed on 40,000 folders to be distributed to fourth grade students in September 2017.
